On January 7, 2024, fine artists Jayashree Sadasivan and Angelo Lopez had a talk on their journeys as artists, the influence of Indian art, and the fun in doing artwork for utility boxes.
Jayashree Sadasivan is a Fine Artist/Mural Artist, Illustrator and Graphic Designer from Sunnyvale, California.
She had a wide variety interests including Painting, Drawing, Utility Art Box projects, Creating Illustrations for Children’s Picture books along with Logo design and Branding for local small business needs. Her love for drawing and painting started ever since my parents gifted me a box of crayons for my birthday in kindergarten.
Jay uses bright colors in most of her artworks for vivacity and expressiveness. She gathers inspiration from Nature and she paints a variety of subjects-whatever suits her fancy at the moment. Colored Pencils, Acrylics, Digital Art, Pen & Ink, Gouache and Mixed media are some of her favorite mediums to create art with.
Jay’s artworks are influenced by artists such as Claude Monet, Birger Sandzen and Pierre-Joseph Redouté. Over the years she has won several Awards and her Artworks have been published in various Art Magazines, Books and Periodicals.

Angelo Lopez is a political cartoonist and a fine artist who has shown his art in Gallery Saratoga, the Sunnyvale Art Gallery, and Chopsticks Alley Art Gallery.
He was editorial cartoonist for The Tri-City Voice from 2008 to 2011 and The Philippine News Today from 2011 to 2023.
Angelo has created murals for Russo McEntee Academy in San Jose, California, the Berryessa Branch of the San Jose Public Library, and the Sunnyvale Art Gallery.
He had created artwork for utility boxes in Campbell and Santa Clara, California.
